Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a form of support for mental health conditions and emotional challenges. It involves a therapeutic relationship between a client and a therapist where they work together to bring about positive change in the client's thinking, feeling, behaviour, and social functioning. Psychotherapy aims to relieve distress, help change unhelpful thoughts, attitudes, behaviours, and promotes more adaptive coping strategies.

It is a collaborative process between the client and the therapist, built on trust and open communication. The core of psychotherapy involves talking about feelings, thoughts, and experiences to gain insight and promote change.

Psychotherapy typically has specific goals, such as reducing symptoms, improving relationships, or developing healthier coping mechanisms. Psychotherapy can help individuals manage stress, cope with mental health illness and difficult life events, improve relationships, and enhance overall mental health and well-being.

Live Well Counselling and Consulting Mental Health Services can provide you with psychotherapy services that will tailor psychotherapy using a variety of therapeutic approaches to support you in improving your mental health well-being.

With over 35 years of experience providing counselling and clinical mental health support, I bring a grounded, compassionate presence to my work with individuals navigating life’s most difficult challenges.

As a registered psychotherapist, I have a specialized focus in complex trauma and practice from a holistic mind-body therapeutic approach that integrates both evidence-based clinical methods and an understanding of the profound connection between emotional and physical wellness.

I support clients in moving beyond traumatic and emotionally painful experiences with calm, ease, and compassion. At the heart of my practice is a deep commitment to emotional safety, non-judgment, validation, and respect. Therapy goals are developed collaboratively, always tailored to the unique needs and strengths of each individual.

I provide support for a wide range of concerns, including: • Relationship issues and family conflict • Abuse, violence, and victimization • Divorce, child-parent challenges, and aging-related concerns • Grief, bereavement, and tragic or chronic loss • Suicide post-intervention and family support • Substance use and addictions • Identity, gender, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, 2SLGBTQQIA+ affirming support.

In each session, you can expect a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My aim is to help you reclaim emotional strength, cultivate resilience, and move toward greater emotional growth, confidence, and overall wellness.
